New apartment setup in Amsterdam

New Apartment Check-In: Your Amsterdam Home, Set Up in One Visit

Just got the keys to your new Amsterdam apartment? I set up everything you need, from curtains and lights to mounting and furniture, so you can actually live there from day one. One visit, one clear quote, everything explained in English.

What I Set Up

  • Curtain rails, rods and blinds
  • Ceiling lights, pendants and spotlights (unfurnished rentals often come with bare wires instead of lights)
  • TVs, mirrors, shelves and art
  • IKEA and flat-pack furniture assembly
  • Toilet seats, shower heads and small fixtures
  • Painting or touch-ups before you unpack

Moving Into an Unfurnished Rental?

Many Amsterdam rentals are "kaal" or unfurnished, which can mean no lights, no curtains and nothing on the walls. It's a lot to handle when you've just arrived and don't know where to buy anchors or which drill bit fits your wall. Send me your list, and I'll tell you what to buy and get it all done in one visit.

Protect Your Deposit From Day One

Before you unpack, photograph any existing damage (marks, holes, scratches) and send the photos to your landlord. It's the easiest way to avoid deposit disputes later. And when it's time to move out, I can help with that too.

Pricing

Simple and transparent: up to €150 per call-out including the first hour, €60 per extra hour, or €30 if the job runs up to 20 minutes into the next hour. Travel within Amsterdam is free.

Example: a typical check-in visit with curtain rails, two lights and a TV takes about 2–3 hours, which comes to about €210–€270. Bundling jobs into one visit is the most cost-effective way to use the call-out.
