TV & wall mounting in Amsterdam

TV & Wall Mounting in Amsterdam

Mounting a TV in an Amsterdam home isn't always simple. Old brick crumbles, concrete is hard to drill, and hollow walls need special anchors. I mount TVs, mirrors, shelves and curtain rails securely in any wall type, level and with cables tidied away, all explained in English.

What I Mount

  • TVs of all sizes, on fixed, tilting or full-motion brackets
  • Mirrors and heavy art
  • Floating shelves and bracket shelves
  • Curtain rails, rods and blinds
  • Bathroom cabinets and mirrors
  • Kitchen shelves and hooks

Amsterdam Walls, Explained

Amsterdam has a mix of building types, and each wall needs a different approach:

  • Old brick (common in pre-war homes): can be soft and crumbly, so it needs the right plugs and careful drilling.
  • Concrete (common in newer apartments): very hard, so it needs a hammer drill and the right bits.
  • Hollow walls and plasterboard: need special cavity anchors, and heavy items should go into the studs behind.

I check your wall first and tell you honestly what it can hold before I drill.

Pricing

Simple and transparent: up to €150 per call-out including the first hour, €60 per extra hour, or €30 if the job runs up to 20 minutes into the next hour. Travel within Amsterdam is free.

Example: mounting a TV on a bracket usually fits within the first hour, so €150. Mounting a TV plus a few shelves or a curtain rail in the same visit makes the most of the call-out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Brick walls are very common in Amsterdam. I use the right drill bits and plugs for old or soft brick, so the bracket holds securely.

Usually, yes, with special cavity anchors or by fixing into the studs. For very large or heavy TVs, I'll check the wall first and tell you honestly if it's safe.

No, please buy the bracket yourself before I come. Send me your TV model and a photo of the wall, and I'll tell you what kind of bracket to get.

I can always tidy cables neatly along the wall with cable covers. Routing cables inside the wall is possible depending on the wall type, so send me a photo and I'll tell you what's possible.

Most rental contracts allow small drill holes, as long as they're repaired when you move out. Check your contract to be sure, and when you move out, I can fill and paint the holes too.
